• To provide students, five through twenty-one years of age diagnosed with autism and pervasive
developmental disorders, with the communication, social, cognitive, and life skills necessary to
enable them to function effectively and as independently as possible in the least restrictive environment.
• To provide parents with training and support so that they can serve as partners within the school
community and work effectively with their children at home.
• To disseminate research and educate the community about the abilities and needs of people with
autism/PDD.
• To provide practical field experiences for university, college, and medical students pursuing
studies in special education or developmental disabilities.
| The Timothy School is an Approved Private School that operates under the authority of the Bureau of Special Education to provide children with an Autistic Support Program in compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Education regulations (Chapters 14) and Federal law (IDEA). The Timothy School is also a Licensed Private School that operates under State regulations governing private schools. |
